November 10, 2020

Dear First Baptist Family,

Enclosed you will find a copy of the proposed 2021 budget (see above). Our Stewardship Committee, staff, and church leaders have reviewed budget requests and prepared this proposal for your consideration. The pandemic invites us to be creative and flexible in our ministry practice. We are confident in God’s provision and expectantly hopeful as God invites us to see what love can do in 2021.

The proposed budget goal for 2021 is $1,320,111, a 2% decrease of our 2020 budget. Although we are behind on meeting our 2020 budget goal, our 2020 expenses have not outpaced our receipts. You will notice an increase in budget for Bank Charges & Business Fees (1-570062) in the proposed 2021 budget. This reflects the increase in online giving during the pandemic, a testament to our congregation’s faithful giving which allows us to offer meaningful ministry in Jefferson City and among our global partners. We believe the proposed budget will allow us to be financially healthy in 2021, at the same time inspiring us to meet our ministry goals.

Enclosed in this packet are the proposed 2021 budget, a 2021 commitment card, and an update letter from our Lead Pastor, Doyle Sager. Please review the enclosed packet and plan to join us for these upcoming opportunities:

  • A motion to grant a one-year extension through August 31, 2022 for FBC to review how it wishes to address the $75,000 commitment to The Baptist Home which was previously approved by the Church on August 31, 2016.
