Keys to Hope
Unlocking Housing Together
First Baptist Church is deepening its commitment to addressing homelessness and inadequate housing in Jefferson City through new partnerships with two frontline organizations: Transformational Housing and Housing the Community Jefferson City.
On Sunday, February 23, 2025, First Baptist Church entered into covenant partnerships with both organizations, pledging up to $50,000 over three years, mobilizing volunteers, and educating its congregation about the urgent housing challenges in the Jefferson City, Missouri, community.
This new initiative, “Keys to Hope: Unlocking Housing Together,” is First Baptist Church’s next step in its long-standing commitment to missions. We've also hosted the JC Room at the Inn the past two winters. JCRATI is a low-barrier shelter during the coldest months of the year.
“Housing insecurity is not just an economic issue; it’s a moral and spiritual one,” said Lead Pastor Melissa Hatfield. “Through these partnerships, we are putting our faith into practice—helping to unlock hope, stability, and dignity for our neighbors. Housing is a fundamental human need, and through these partnerships, we are committing to walk alongside our neighbors in crisis, helping to create pathways to stable and secure housing.”
