Special Mission Offerings

Throughout the year, First Baptist Church will promote offerings for special mission needs. Over the course of a year these will benefit ministries found within Missouri, across our nation and globally over and above our regular offerings.

Global Missions Offering (December)

Give a special gift this season to support missions around the world as we share the love of Jesus Christ. Our church provides three global missions giving options for you to choose from with this offering we give each December:

· Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Global Missions (cbf.net/missions/ogm)

CBF’s Global Missions: From Bali, Canada, Malaysia and dozens of places in between, you will find God working and changing lives through CBF ministries. The CBF Offering for Global Missions provides funding for the powerful ministries of more than 135 CBF field personnel.

· Churchnet World Missions (churchnet.org/world-missions-offering)

All funds go to the Baptist World Alliance to support their vital ministry around the world.The Baptist World Alliance is a fellowship of 214 Baptist unions and conventions comprising a membership of more than 34 million baptized believers. This represents a community of approximately 80 million Baptists ministering around the world. The BWA unites Baptists worldwide, leads in evangelism, responds to people in need and defends human rights.

· Lottie Moon (Southern Baptist Convention) (imb.org/main/lottie-moon-christmas-offering)

The International Mission Board (IMB) is the global missions organization of the Southern Baptist Convention. Think your gift to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering won’t make a difference? Every penny given to Lottie Moon helps support more than 5,000 Southern Baptist missionaries serving worldwide. The offering is named after Lottie Moon, an amazing woman who served as a missionary in China and worked tirelessly to encourage Christians back home to support missions around the world.

The Mission America Offering in April supports the work of sharing the love of Christ throughout the United States and North America in three different ways:

(Cooperative Baptist Fellowship)

Together for Hope is a long-term commitment to working with people in 20 of the nation’s poorest counties in
order to affect change and break the cycle of economic disparity. The ministry is about establishing long-term relationships, listening, learning and walking alongside local leaders. The hope is that communities will be transformed as will the churches and individuals who serve in these focal counties.

NABFNorth American Baptist Fellowship

The NABF is one of the six regional fellowships of the Baptist World Alliance. It represents a diverse Baptist family in the US and Canada of approximately 18 million people of many different races and ethic backgrounds. We are committed to working together to strengthen each other and minister around the world through prayer, networking, sharing resources, and cooperative ministry ventures.
