ABOUT US:

First Baptist Church Jefferson City (FBC JC) is a historic Baptist downtown congregation deeply committed to missions. The congregation, with an average Sunday attendance between 250-300, is roughly 53% aged 65 and over and 35% between the ages of 35 and 64. While we follow the RCL and the liturgical seasons, our worship style is not formal or liturgical but more blended with a praise team, orchestra, and choir. FBC JC is a predominately white congregation with diverse political and economic backgrounds, welcoming of all. The church was founded in 1837 and sits on the banks of the Missouri River within sight of the Missouri State Capitol. We support missions locally and globally and seek to work alongside other churches from various denominations. We honor women’s call to ministry and the ordination of women in ministry both as pastors and deacons.
