Mentoring
We have a vibrant partnership with South Elementary School in Jefferson City. We support South in a variety of ways including: mentoring; teachers supply boxes quarterly; school supplies; purchasing t-shirts for staff and students; work days at the school; lunches for staff appreciation; cards and care packages throughout the year; volunteers for school events; benevolence funds for students in need; money for field trips; end of year picnic for all mentors and mentees, and more. We are grateful to support such an awesome school. South School Tigers Rule!
The best way we can support is by providing mentors. Mentors help children live better stories. What an awesome opportunity to help a child live the best story possible. All it takes is 45 minutes each during the school year. That’s it. You talk, play games, go for a walk on the playground or shoot some hoops. You can eat lunch with them or just visit. 45 minutes. A lifetime of impact.
If you’d like to serve as a mentor, here is more information on what is required. We partner with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the JCPS Mentor Program for the screening and placement process.
