National Missions

We have partnered with Wings as Eagles Ministries on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota since 2008.  You can read more about the needs of Pine Ridge and the work of WAEM here. We take two trips to the reservation each year—one in June and one in December.

The June trip usually has two goals—ministry with children as well as construction.  Part of our team focuses on working with Lakota children, providing a Vacation Bible School type event.  The other part of the team focuses on a construction or landscaping projects as needed by our partners. The trip usually costs $425/person.

The December trip is focused on delivering Christmas to the Lakota. We begin collecting Christmas shoe boxes for Pine Ridge in late November donated by our church and other churches through the United States.  You may find instructions on how to make a shoe box for a Lakota child or elder by clicking the following link: shoebox-instructions We help coordinate and run distribution events and we also deliver Christmas gifts to some of the communities on the reservation. The cost for this trip is usually $300, including everything but fast-food meals on the road.

Trip participants must be a junior in high school or older unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.

We also provide teams to respond to natural disasters throughout the United States. We have sent teams to Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina; Iowa after floods; and Joplin after the devastating tornado in 2011. We just returned from a disaster relief trip to Louisiana in August 2016 in partnership with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
